So Long Hong Kong 只要香港

We are wrapping up our Hong Kong entries with a few random photos and thoughts. First of all a huge thank you to Leighton and Sharon our friends through more than twenty years. Thanks for making us feel welcome and for encouraging us to come visit so we could witness first hand the place you have called home, off and on since the early nineties. It has been a wonderful eye opener and a perfect way to start our 5050 adventures. Our appetite for travel has only increased and you have already invited us to come back!  We love your suggestion that we have to end our 5050 travelog in New Zealand. Start with the Duleys in Hong Kong and end with the Duleys in New Zealand.... sounds like a great plan.

Leighton and Diana were cornered by of group of young students and asked if they would mind if they interviewed them.

This blog post is entered from Canada and we already miss Hong Kong. We returned to a bit of cold snap here and had to adjust from balmy 25-30 degrees in Hong Kong to temperatures as cold as -15 in Canada. After a couple of days with Mik in Vancouver we stayed with Bernie and Sattu at Silver Star Mountain where the ski season is off to a great start. No skiing for us this time around. Staying in Vernon also gave us a chance to hang out with Dagny & Philippe, Ross & Amanda and Calvin & Christine. Good to see them all before finally heading out from Vernon this past Sunday afternoon.

We have returned to Victoria and the same Airbnb we stayed with over the Thanksgiving weekend. We have a nice loft room which reminds us of our first apartment we had in Denmark in 1984. The loft has slanted walls and you can hear the rain and December wind howling outside. Temperatures are more tolerable here. Today it was up to 12 degrees. People are still biking and golfing. Quite a change from Okanagan winters. We will be here with our daughter Emma and boyfriend Nic for a few weeks. We are still working out details for Christmas so stay tuned for a few post coming up from Victoria.
