I was wondering if we should postpone our crossing from Tswwassen to Swartz Bay on this windy day. We later found out the storm ended up causing havoc in Vancouver with trees uprooted and crashing down on power lines, cars and people. Hundreds of thousands were left without power for days. Folks at the ferry terminal seemed pretty calm but passengers occasionally laughed nervously as the ferry rocked along. Surely this would end well? I went to the upper deck to catch a few shots and it did indeed get quite rocky as the ferry turned around to set course towards Swartz Bay. The captain announced to hang onto something at every turn. We didn't get sea sick and I am glad to report we made it to the other side.
