Mariners Baseball, Starbucks Coffee and Hendrix in Seattle

One Night Getaway to Seattle from Vancouver

Baseball, Coffee and Exploring in Seattle for a couple of days

It has been quiet on the blog since we settled back into our version of real life in Vancouver. Stay tuned for a travel summary coming up very soon: 25 Countries in 18 months.

Our daughter Emma and boyfriend Simon are visiting and they invited us to join them for an overnight getaway to Seattle. I would not characterize us a baseball fans but we thought; why not, and booked tickets for the Mariners - Mets game. It was a wonderful way to spend a summer Sunday afternoon. The atmosphere around Safeco Field was amazing and it was a real family affair.

We stayed at the hostel, did urban exploring, had plenty of Starbucks and made the coffee lovers pilgrimage to the oldest Starbucks located at Pike Place Market. We also sampled different coffees at the modern new Starbucks Roastery on Pike Street.

Simon is a big Jimi Hendrix fan so we paid tribute and found the Jimi Hendrix Statue on Broadway.
