It has been a whirlwind week since Emma arrived in Paris last Thursday. This blog post comes to you from Barcelona where we are staying for five nights. Stay tuned for a couple more posts from Paris to come.
It was the best feeling ever when we hugged Emma at Charles de Gaulle airport. She had us a bit worried as it took over an hour to get through customs as only one customs clerk was working the desk. Our goal on the first day was to take it easy and deal with jet lag. Our super fantastic hosts wined and dined us with a festive and delicious french dinner on her first evening in France. Dominique and Cathrine (life long friends of Philippe and Dagny's) have once again welcomed us with open arms and we are so grateful. We feel very much at home with them. As Emma said; It feels just like at the Fanfanis :)
For the first two days in Paris we went far and wide. Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triumph, Champs-Elysees, Place de la Concorde, Louvre, Rue de Mouffetard, Pantheon, Hotel Luxembourg and Latin Quarter. At Rue de Mouffetard we ran into a Nikon Photo School on assignment. They were doing a black and white street photography class. We exchanged a few experiences and they took photos of my new camera strap with the 5050 travelog web address so they could check our website later. Last but not least we met up with Laura and had a wonderful cafe dinner near the Louvre. Laura stayed with Dagny and Philippe for six months about six years ago. It was fun to catch up again and the dinner/plenty of wine was superb.
