Nature photography, composition, and shooting techniques will be focal points on this photo walk through my neighbourhood. We will walk along the Stanley Park Seawall Path and talk about making ordinary photos extraordinary through composition choices. We will cut through Stanley Park on the forest trails and head to the Lost Lagoon. We will go over camera settings and experiment with manual exposures, bracketing and exposure compensation. Street Photography Workshop in Vancouver

You are ready to take your photography one step further and would like to explore the world of street photography. We will meet at the front steps of the Vancouver Art Gallery (Facing West Georgia Street). With cameras and memory cards ready we will explore the Art Gallery Plaza, Robson Square, and areas around the art gallery. This area is exceptional for street photography. The photo walk will continue through Gas Town and we will navigate the business area and high rises around Burrard Street on route back to the Art Gallery. We will wrap things up in a coffee shop and I will share some of my views and pointers. I will give you tips on how to approach street photography and go over various theories. I will be happy to guide you with your gear selection. I use Fujifilm's X-series but am familiar with most DLSR and mirrorless systems, and I am not sponsored or affiliated with any brand. I have a selection of Fujifilm X-Series lenses, which you are welcome to try out. Just let me know, and I will make sure to bring along.

For 35+ years, I have been a photography buff and have had my own photography business for 15+ of those years. I have been fortunate to teach photography to high school, elementary school, and private students. In November 2015 my wife and I set out to pursue travel photography. We have visited 33 countries so far and have a goal of reaching 50 countries in the span of 50 months. I hope to share my experiences with travellers and give you hints on how to pursue your passion.
