Classic Car Race South of Paris With the 1949 Simca Fanfani

The idea of attending the Centennial Festival car races near Paris was seeded earlier that summer during a visit to Mimbaste in Southern France.

I met up with Philippe and Dominique and on the October 12-13 weekend we drove south of Paris to attend the Centennial Festival. It was a marvellous spectable of old race cars dating from the 1930s to 1970s.
I had a press pass and enjoyed decent access to get closer to the action. In this post you will see my favorite captures from day one, to be followed up by more photos soon from day two.
