We walked along English Bay twice yesterday, relaxed, and swam at the pool by Second Beach, but the story of the day is about a photo I didn’t take.

In the morning, we were walking in Stanley Park, and as I often do, I lifted the camera up to my face and checked a composition that initially looked promising.

A cyclist and pedestrian were coming toward me, but the shot didn’t look quite right, so I removed the camera from my eye at the exact moment as the cyclist passed me up real close.

I heard a familiar voice; the gentleman was on his phone, deep in conversation, it seemed. Then I immediately realized it was Owen Wilson, out for a morning ride :)

As he passes me, he raises his right hand, and I’m not sure if it was part of his animated phone conversation or if he was upset that I appeared to be taking a photo of him.

Owen, you will never read this, but if by some miracle you do, please know that I had no idea it was you, and I never took a photo of you. I hope you enjoyed your ride and that you are having an amazing time in Vancouver.

By the way, we are enjoying Owen’s appearance in the Apple TV show, “Stick”.
