Planning a Three Month Trip to Europe

Getting Ready for Phase Two of 5050 Travelog

Packing for Europe

Our backpacks are lined up and airing out. Meticulously we plan and trial pack. Which clothes will make the cut, and which will be rejected? Will our bags be too heavy? Do we need more shoes? Fewer shoes?

How cold will it be in Iceland in September? What visas do we need? How much camera gear is too much? Do we have travel insurance? Who will look after our cats? What about our apartment? What about our work?

Europe Travel Itinerary

After a year of reevaluating we are resuming our travels, albeit in a modified fashion. We head out from Vancouver on June 18th. We will be gone just shy of three months and as expected before departure, we are knee-deep in logistics and planning.

We will be in Denmark for three weeks before traveling through parts of Scandinavia and Eastern Europe. So far the list of destinations includes; Poland, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Iceland. Stay tuned for more as we confirm travel arrangements.

Living in Vancouver Between Travels

Time flies. We have already been in Vancouver for a year and we pinched ourselves as we explored our new neighborhood. English Bay and the West End are vibrant areas near the park and beach.

On a stroll by the Seawall or through Stanley Park; snippets of conversations in foreign tongues, two or three different ones within minutes. We love the international flair and will look forward to returning in September.

We have both felt nothing but support and encouragement from our clients and work contacts. Mik and Courtney are starting a home for geriatric felines and we are truly grateful. A very pleasant young man will be residing in our apartment and taking care of the plants.

We are excited to be headed out on the road again and look forward to sharing stories and photos here at 5050 Travelog.

To get you warmed up, scroll through some of my favorite captures from our first year in Vancouver.
