Snippets From Our France and Italy Trip

We were back on the road after our fun adventures in Mimbaste, southern France. Our friend suggested we shouldn’t miss the chance for a quick stop in Biarritz, so we headed to the coast at the Bay of Biscay for a road trip up the coastline to Mimizan.

Biarritz has the surf vibe in spades. We loved the atmosphere at the beach, but admittedly, we didn’t stay for long. We ordered beachfront cappuccinos and regrettably had to move on as we had booked a night further north.

Moliets-et-Maa and Miziman

The drive up the coast was lovely—many small towns and hundreds of roundabouts. We bought fresh cherry tomatoes and a few other snacks. These were the best cherry tomatoes we’d ever had, and we consumed the whole tray during our drive.

We stopped for a walk and put our feet in the water at the beach in Moliets-et-Maa. This was a lovely beach town with a seemingly endless sand beach, a few shops, and restaurants.

Di visited a few souvenir shops and we had our second coffee before driving further north to Mimizan.

In Mimizan, we stayed at a cozy place, Logis Hôtel Emeraude des Bois. Dinner was pizza in town, followed by ice cream cones. Denmark played soccer that evening, and we moved from our room to the patio with our laptop to watch the game, as the internet connection was better there :)

The following morning, we headed out early for Bordeaux.
