Snippets From Our France and Italy Trip
We found ourselves in southern France in the summer of 2024 as our friend Philippe was reunited with his father’s old 1949 Simca Fanfani Roaster (link to the post about the car).
Our host in Mimbaste, Lionel Cousseau, kindly invited us to an evening bull run event, followed by a festive community moules-frites dinner—more about the moules-frites in our next post.
We had no idea what to expect from the bull run event, and I will leave you with a few images.
I covered the event with a Leica SL2-S (link to my review) and manual-focus Voigtländer Nokton 50mm f/1.2. You would normally not bring a manual-focus lens to such an event, but I found it challenging.
I also decided to share black-and-white images only, as I found it fitting for the topic.
Bull run events such as this are common in the Basque area of Spain and southern France.
