Arriving at Dubai International Airport

Photo Essay From Our UAE Arrival Day

Tim Horton and Starbucks to the Rescue

Although our surroundings have changed completely I have turned to a couple of trusted sources in order to get this first post from UAE online. We are at a mall enjoying a Tim Hortons coffee using Starbucks wifi. Feels like home for a brief moment.

Andrew picked us up a the airport in Dubai but he decided to check the airport in Abu Dhabi first just in case we had decided to land there instead. This caused a slight delay so we went outside the airport to feel the sun and to have a look around.

Andrew made it to Dubai and we drove through the desert to Al Ain and checked in. His apartment is located on the outskirts of Al Ain. Andrew works here as a teacher and is one of our good friends from Vernon.

The Hili apartments are right next to a mall complex where we can get everything for everyday living. We grabbed some food for a light dinner and stayed in as the jetlag was setting in.
